I have never read anything by Kristen James but I will definitely be looking into other books by this author. This short story was truly amazing, in my opinion anyway :-). My time to be able to read a story is extremely limited so this story was absolutely perfect. I was able to read it while finishing up the laundry. It may be short but take my word for it, it is so full of content that the reader will be satisfied. Sure, it takes place art Christmas time but it can certainly be read any time of year.I will most definitely be putting this story on my "to read again"list

These men have a bond with each other that goes beyond comprehension. They risk much for their pals.
Aiden is afraid his marriage is over if he can't get home for Christmas. Is Vivianne so shallow that she would end her pregnancy if her husband can't get home? She knew the expectations on a man in the armed forces. How could she consider such a thing?
I really liked this story because it seemed like this was a really realistic story. The things this couple were going through is probably happening a lot across the USA. The hero was at fault and so was the heroine - no one was perfect. Super great quick read.
This is a short read but a good read. Aiden is a Navy Seal. Vivianne is his wife. He is away on a mission. They are having marital problems and are looking at divorce. Aiden tells his Seal buddies about his home life. They want him to save his marriage so they come up with a plan to get him home to his wife for Christmas. Going home saves his marriage.
It was too short to get emotionally involved with the characters, which I realize is a possibility with a short story. Adian and Viv spend almost the whole story apart, I would have liked to see a little more togetherness.
The stuff with Adian's job was just too unbelievable. I doubt his SEAL team members would risk their jobs by trying to help him save his marriage.
This was a very quick and short read. Nothing much to the characters or plot. Was expecting some interesting climax but fell flat.
So if you can get past the fact this would never happen in real life, in regards to Adrian coming home for Christmas after a missiom decompression, then I'm sure you'll enjoy the story. It's a quick and sweet read that highlights real stuggles married couples go through if one or both are in the military;infidelity being the main focus. It was well written and I enjoyed it. It's not one of those books to get to serious about in regards to detail.
I'm impressed by the true-to-life portrayal of marriage to a Spec Ops warrior. It was really sweet that the despite the physical distance between the hero and heroine, they both wanted to save their marriage. I love the happily-ever-after (a huge reason why romance is MY genre), and this quick read had a very satisfying HEA! Particularly wonderful scenes where the pair remembered whey they initially fell in love with each other.
